From the BBC website:
“Ashley Shaw led the fightback with a five-wicket haul on his Championship debut as Kent dragged their way back into the contest at Canterbury.
The young left-armer (5-118) took four of the seven wickets to fall in the morning session as, from 370-3 overnight, Derbyshire made 460 all out……….
But it was Shaw who sparked the Kent recovery with three wickets in the space of five balls.
The 20-year-old started the day by removing Derbyshire nightwatchman Tony Palladino with a yorker and then in his next over had Dan Redfern caught at second slip and trapped Greg Smith leg before in successive balls, before later picking up Jonathan Clare.
In doing so he became the first Kent player to take five wickets on his Championship debut since Muttiah Muralitharan in 2003.”
BBC Radio Kent’s Matt Cole:
“Kent got their just desserts for tight bowling in the first session and, for Ashley Shaw, it was reward for never giving up on a batsman-friendly strip.”
Caught by Martin van Jaarsveld off the bowling of James Tredwell (neither in shot!). Also pictured Sam Northeast, Rob Key & Joe Denly.
